Minimally Invasive Mitral Valve Repair Device

This device reshapes and repairs the mitral valve using four adjustable saline filled fluid chambers that are integrated into a tension band that is placed around the outside of the heart. The silicone band also helps to remodel the ventricles to provide sub-annular repair that reduces or eliminates mitral valve regurgitation. This device is implanted using minimally invasive surgical techniques or via an open procedure and is placed around the outside of the heart reducing the use of contrast media and risks associated with clots. This mitral valve repair device is also the only device that allows post operative adjustment through the use of four subcutaneous ports that can be accessed by a needle.
