Needle-Scopic Percutaneous Suturing Devices

This device inserted a Nitinol spring fastener through a Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Stent Graft and through the wall of the aorta to secure them together. This device prevents AAA Stent Graphs from migrating or moving in the aorta. The Nitinol spring fastener was designed to transform from a straight position to a coiled position with the ability to fit and be deployed out of a 22-gauge needle. The needle could then be percutaneously inserted into the patients back and into the aorta while a spring loaded firing mechanism deployed the Nitinol spring automatically.
